We understand that when it comes to your vision needs, your options are limitless when deciding on an Eyecare provider. When you schedule your eye exam with us, you can rest assured that you are receiving the most comprehensive eyecare in the area.

Our exams begin with an in-depth prescreening assessment. As part of this assessment, we test your current visual capability: at distance for all patients, near for patients older than 40, & cataracts for patients 60 and older; a visual field screening; pupillary responses; eyemuscle evaluation; and blood pressure measurement.

Then a computerized refraction is performed, determining your prescription for visual correction. This prescription is so precise that we actually guarantee it.

Lastly, we focus on the health of your eyes through either the dilation process or with retinal imaging – the patient’s choice (& neither include the dreaded puff of air - no air in the eye here!). Drs. Cowan examine the eyes for signs of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye syndrome, & other eye diseases.

During the retinal examination, Drs. Cowan will also look for early signs of high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, & multiple sclerosis.

Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to work with one of our knowledgeable & friendly optical staff. They will guide you through the frame selection process & explain the many different lens material options available to you, or will help you with our contact lens fitting process.

You will leave your appointment knowing that your vision & eye health is just as important to us as it is to you.
